A unique building project in Bratislava
Textured GRC facade cladding for Nivy Station
 
 
 
The construction on the new unique social hub Nivy Station is complete. Nivy Station combines a bus terminal, shopping centre, and several facilities for active rest and relaxation.

The multi-purpose complex is located in the lively New Nivy district in Bratislava, a district that has seen incredible development over the last few years.

The facade of the building is clad with over 2.000 GRC elements from BB fiberbeton.
 
These coloured facade elements have a light matt surface with exposed aggregates, creating a textured expression.

The three curved protruding peebles add a unique and futuristic look to the building. The interesting geometry of the elements are achievable because of the highly formable quality of GRC. Cast in 12 mm thin elements, GRC can be moulded into an unlimited array of complex geometries.

Lightweight balconies

GRC balconies are lightweight and tailored to your design.While the balconies have the appearance of solid concrete, they are in fact lightweight structures. They consist of a load bearing steel structure that is encapsulated with a GRC balcony floor and ceiling. This lessens the load on buildings and with the formability of GRC you can customise the shape and surface of the balcony elements.

Looking back at 2021
A year of expansion and new prospects

2021 has been a special year for the BB fiberbeton family and one of the biggest changes has been our expansion to the UK, when we back in September merged with two British GRC companies.

This has brought forth new challenges, new knowledge, and a lot of excitement for both our Danish and British colleagues.

Our new British production, now operating as BB fiberbeton UK, moved into new and improved facilities. In Denmark we not only got a new office space, we are also expanded our production capacity with a new and larger production hall.

We are excited to see how our combined resources, experience, and GRC knowledge will lead to new opportunities to help create durable, unique, and sustainable architecture.
